That is to say, Display Port differs from HDMI in that there is no audio signal included in the cable. You can connect a monitor with built in speakers to a computer with HDMI, and it will play music, but if you use Display Port, you will have to run a 3.5mm audio jack cable as well.
I prefer DVI to HDMI because HDMI gets rid of the square graph background to all video sources, and I like graphing paper, not blank paper.
