Has anyone else ever read The Declaration of Independence? It’s mostly just a screed against King George, like the revolutionaries were going to take this list of transgressions to their daddies and have them do something about it. I think The Declaration should be added to and amended regularly with new dirt and rabble-rousing, just like The Constitution gets new freedoms. It doesn’t really matter though, since this country has been in a State of Emergency from constant wars since the American Civil War and all citizens’ rights are pretty much suspended. It’s not so much that we fight wars to kill enemies. We fight them to maintain perpetual governmental martial law.
