Every person you have as a significant other should be treated differently than the person you had before. Each person you are no longer seeing should be remembered fully for who they were, at the time you knew them, as opposed to how you remember them now, and the time you no longer do. What you remember about them now is not what they are now, and what you remember about them now is not how you thought of them before. Time leads to new memories. Time changes people. People change people. People have new thoughts. Thoughts change memory. Thoughts change people. Memories interact with and change thoughts. People’s memories can change themselves. (Not always, and not always in that order).
