I have a business idea for an alternative to Shazaam, the music recognition software application. Any time you hear a song you don’t recognize, you record it with your phone and it gets uploaded and resent to the music department of every major university and they get their students to listen to it and identify it for you from a pre-loaded database of all the songs that ever existed, and then report back to you collectively for a letter grade from their “Music Recognition” or “Music Memory” professor.
Like “Ask the audience” on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
The sticklerish part? Students get paid nothing to do all the work, just like it’s always been.
