What if the human brain is not the true generator of all observable, incident intelligent actions, and instead, acts merely as a time-locked detector of collated multiple consciousnesses? I think this as the toes on my foot reflexively tense and relax of their own volition, causing sensations of pain and anxiety within my cranium upon notice. Wouldn’t it be cool if, in old age, we could get our mental faculties surgically or chemically altered to effectively retune our internal “timing belts”? It would ameliorate the loss of togetherness and connectedness in our tired psyches, sharpening the dulled reflexes we develop as a result of years of use and abuse at the hands of others.
